Caryn Herzog

dance studio loganville, dance studio grayson, dance studio gwinnettCaryn Esler-Herzog is excited about her new opportunity as Creative Director for Studio 1! She began studying dance in 1978. Her vast training in all facets of dance assisted her in her pursuit to further her dance education at the State University of New York, Brockport (Home of Garth Fagan) from 1990-1995. There she continued extensive study with Timothy Drapper, Santo Giglio, Clyde Morgan and Jacqueline Davis, among several others.

After receiving her degree, Caryn was a dance instructor/choreographer in several studios in the Rochester area from 1995-2005. Doing so, she won hundreds of awards for students of all ages as well as choreography and special judges awards. Due to her training and experience in Musical Theatre, she continued to perform/choreograph for local groups including Blackfriars Professional Theatre. She was also on the dance team for the Rochester Rhinos, USL Professional Division Soccer Team in 1996.

Moving mid-dance season to Atlanta, Georgia in 2005-2010 she worked for the Gwinnett County School District and then left the public sector to work at a private, Christian school, Strong Wall Academy in Lawrenceville from 2010-2012. During this time she also worked for two local dance studios where she had continued success achieving awards for her students, choreography and special judges awards. Caryn has also been showcased for Guthy-Ranker infomercials for SheerCover in 2006 and 2012.

While she had much success with her students, she was unable to find a place where it reminded her of the previous studios in New York. She longed to bring more “Broadway” back to the dance floor. Her dance philosophy is to not just showcase a student’s abilities, but to entertain and engage the audience with a storyline while doing so. After much thought and deliberation with her mother, Eileen Woodworth, owner of Studio 1, she proceeded forward with the pursuit of fulfilling a dream of owning her own dance studio. With this blessing and opportunity she is thrilled to begin this new journey in her dance career and welcomes all who wish to join her!
